(227 g) Headless shrimp with shells

Marinade:
1/2 tsp
(2.5 mL) Low sodium soy sauce
1 tsp
(5 mL) Cornstarch
Dash of White pepper
Sauce:
1/2 tsp
(2.5 mL) Low sodium soy sauce
1 tsp
(5 mL) Sugar
1 tsp
(5 mL) Cornstarch
2 tbsp
(30 mL) Cold water
1. Remove shells and devein shrimp. Marinade the shrimp using the
marinade ingredients listed above for half an hour.
2. Combine sauce ingredients in a small bowl. Mix well and set aside.
3. Heat about 1 tablespoon of oil in a non-stick wok. Stir fry shrimp until the shrimp turns pink in colour, remove from the wok.
4. Heat about 1 tablespoon of oil in a non-stick wok. Stir fry celery briefly, and then add the diced apple and red pepper, stirring until almost cooked through. Add in the shrimp and the sauce mixture and stir constantly until the sauce thickens. Ready to serve.

Can someone review this recipe? I feel it must be incomplete. The description mentions ginger and chili flakes but they don’t appear in the recipe. Should they be part of the marinade or the sauce?

I see in the one exchange section there is 1 milk =1/2 cup milk. Do not see any milk in the recipe. Please advise.

Delicious! Would doubling the sauce amount to too much sodium. I felt this recipe needed a little more sauce. I added some cooked white rice on the side.
